Summer Edition | Last Updated for: Thursday 18th February, 2010

Thursday 18th February: I shouldn't have let Mat talk me into having those garlic chilli prawns last night. You always know next day when you have made a mistake. With Racing it's more instantaneous than that. Twice yesterday I broke my rules through not paying enough attention and twice it cost me, however after just a few races my Powerbet series was $460 in front so I stopped and restarted putting Magazines in envelopes. About 1,000 went out yesterday.

I would have made more money by continuing on but we do have commitments. I will finalise the rest of the day when I get to the office but I did notice that I could have made a lot more money if I did include the small fields. Because of the 100% minimum, when we do get the small field winners we do get quite good odds. I'll keep going with real cash.

There were two instances yesterday which showed how using a database can be the wrong information. I bet one horse at $7.50. It went to $8 and then was slammed into $4.60. After the race I would have only seen the $4.60 and acted on that. It may have affected the bet size, whether or not I included the third rated horse and so on. Another later instance had me on a horse at $8. It eased to $12 and so using past data I would have had a smaller bet. It won and even at the longer price would still have cleared the series buttthe size of the win would be different. It is swings and roundabouts to a degree.

I do wish I could have avoided the Premiums yesterday. There were six eligible bets although not all passed the rules but all went down, not even running a place, well two did, one at $1.04 and the other about $1.50. We had a bad day like this about three months ago and it is always unexpected, especially the place side. Wow!

Wednesday 17th February: I wasn't around to bet on Monday as you know but I was able to recreate the Powerbet strategy using the results on dynamicraceodds. It was necessary to carryover the last series to Tuesday when I was able to bet, howvere the only meeting where fixed odds were available was Benalla. By Benalla Cup time Powerbet had won $675.30 making a total of over $3500 since Friday on a $20 base bet.

The Benalla Cup was Greg Horns Daily Feature Race and I backed the winner, the Quinella and the Trifecta for a profit of over $1500 on an outlay of just over $100. Of course the $9+ winner, was the horse that cleared the final series.

I have had a number of queries about the rules I am applying. These are in a state of flux as I continue to look for the ideal set which will be given out to the attendees at the Professional Racing Seminar we are having at Raffertys Resort March 15th-18th. For now though it is simple. Using Winform Ratings we simply bet the Winform Top three, and based on the fixed prices available only bet those horses that fit into a 100% profit starting at the top horse. I'm not backing 2yo or horses 7yo and up. I am not betting in fields of less than 8.

I might get the top horse at $2.50 so if the second rated horses is at $7.50 or more or is maybe $7 but much higher best tote then this horse gets in and we look no further but if that second horse was $6.50 or less then the only bet is the top one and so on.

If the top horse is a 7yo then it is not considered. Instead use the 2nd horse and possibly the thrid horse but we don't go further. Also, any horse that is longer in the market then $21 is not backed. The strike rate of these is between 1% and 2%. In my 3,000 bets so far and about 1400 or so races I have only missed three winners by eliminating these horses.

Tuesday 16th February: A $10.50 winner in the very first race might have been enough for most people to take the win and quit for the day. We got caught a bit offside by Lismore which was given out by everyone as a Dead track. It turned out to be Good and that probably cost us a good winner later in the day.

I am thinking that when a race qualifies as a C Plan race I might just take those two selections regardless of percentage. My next set of figures will probably be done this way just to see. I am satisfied that just doing the C Plan using Powerbet may not be sustainable. although one Member had great success with this last year. I do believe that the new strategy will succeed with it as to leave it out if our calcualtions is to turn our back on a 50% race strike rate. More testing coming up.

Last night I attanded a local community meeting. Our area is dotted with coalmines and a new company has bought out an existing played out mine with a view to changing it to a longwall operation and sustining it for another 20 years. There is only one road in and one road out of our suburb and if the operation goes ahead, there will be one truck leaving the mine every 60 seconds and the present history is that mots of these trucks are overloadded by as much as 50%. I have organised a protest. Residents will be switching on their vehicle lights whenever they drive on Rutleys Road and we are trying to organise for a three kilometre procession of as many residents as we can get. We hope to persuade the Government and the mine owners to build a conveyor operation instead, which is how the other operating mine does it.

Happy punting today. Just three meetings including the Western Australia, Mount Barker meeting where we don't expect to be able to gte fixed prices.

Monday 15th February: My race strike rate was a little better yesterday at 30%. It really does come down once you eliminate those small fields. The prices do stay up though and that appears to be what counts. Profit for my $20 base bet was $706.60 and I quit at about 5.30 after the last at Naracoorte. Betezy is the key to my success on days like yesterday where they are the only ones to pay best of three totes on country and provincial races. The differences averaged about a dollar on winners over $5 so on yesterday's bets alone the extra profit was well over $200. I still use IASbet.com for fixed prices where that is clearly better.

Three race meetings today, so an easy day with plenty of time in between races. The Winform Professional Racing Seminar is filling up fast so we expect a few more bookings today. The Magazine is despatched later this week. I myself will be in Sydney again today, probably for the last time dealing with our property at Normanhurst. When it sells I will be once again in control of things even though my other property remains on the market and unsold. The $6,000 a month repayments make life very difficult at present and it is no fun using the credit card to fill the gaps but at least I am racking up a few reward points. I should get my $20 gift card any time now!

Sunday 14th February: I could gloat about yesterday's massive successes for my own Best Bets, Grandslam or 0nly The Best but if I did, the forums would be alive with comments complaining about "they only talk about their winners" and so on. That's never been the case as our wins and losses are on the website and have been for years and updated every month.

Instaeda I will admit that I was lazy. As you know I have been researching my new Powerbet strategy and racked up over 2,000 bets and massive profits from selecting random days, weeks and months from the data base.

In real time with real money it is different. It is easy to make mistakes. The bets that on paper you would have had are bets that in real time you may not have had. A race that gives you 100% profit turns into 60% profit due to late price moves or makes 300% profit for the same reason.

Friday I was successful on a lousy 27% race strike rate and made $943. Yesterday I didn't see the day out (had to pick my Dad up from the home and take him to a chinese dinner) so quit at $1348 ahead by 4.30. Ken Henderson, who is coming to the Seminar in March, complained that he had one problem yesterday. He kept wining so there was no adrenalin rush like you get when losing and the big winner arrives. I don't think he followed one of my rules where you don't bet in fields less than 8. There were a lot of small fields early yesterday and Winform won nearly all of them.

Technical stuff. I used Powerbet with a base bet of $20 yesterday. The race strike rate was only 24% with 16% individual winners and average dividend of $7.62. The worst drawdown was $923. For a $5 base bet, which is the smallest we recommend the profit was $345 and drawdown $230, almost identical with last Saturday.

Using Money Factory instead with a $25 base bet the profit was only $481 and the average return per race was $3.55. Biggest drawdon was $1833 or 38% of the Bank. The longest run of losing races was just ten.

Saturday 13th February: The true test of a betting plan is always when the money goes on. It took an effort to pass up the races which weren't eligible and pass the bets that overall are unprofitable and today three or four of those "bad" bets won and all at good prices.

In the end I used a $20 base bet and only scored seven winners from fifty seven bets but the magic of Powerbet turned that into a $943 profit. Greg's Daily Fetaure race was one of those races and Greg nominated the winner, the quinella and the Trifecta.

I've written this up Friday night because I will be busy tomorrow. With 80 or more races I will be very busy with Powerbet. There were some Premium winners today too.

Friday 12th February: Yesterdays Premium bet was an easy winner. I also passed 2000 selections in the Powerbet workout and three more people paid uo for the Seminar at Raffertys Resort. Powerbet averaged $500 or more per week on a $5 base bet and I used December 09, February 09 and June 09. I also did several days of this month. The first three days od last December showed a $694 loss but that was soon recovered and turned into $600+ profit two days later.

Mat has shares in the Mark Waugh Racing syndicate. Yesterday two of them ran, Purrfect Dancer and Paw The Drinks. Both horses stormed home for a fourth and a third. Harry Kay and Majestic Gem are the other two horses in the number 3 syndicate and they have won too. It is rare enought to get a horse to the track but for all four horses to have won is astounding. I didn't begrudge him the pleasure of being at the trcak to see his horses run. He has picked up a contract to work in Canberra for the next eight months as part of a two man team. Hopefully he will do well with working six days a week leaving little time for distractions.

Today we are getting the last of our tiling redone on our new Eden Brae home. Never have we experienced such a bad building job as we have with Eden Brae. We are still in dispute over $30,000 worth of poor quailty workmanship and materials and expect to be at the Tribunal soon.

On the positive side, the Magazine which looks brilliant, went off to the printers yesterday. It takes just an hour or so to read it but there is a lot of detail that will be read over and over again. There is some great stuff. It is being mailed from late next week.

Thursday 11th February: The dentist cancelled yesterday just as I was heading off. Postponed to March 22nd. If I ran my business the same way you would get today's ratings next week. Greg is still having problems with his tooth and lines up for his 5th or is it 6th visit next week. His tooth dramas, he now has an infected mouth, haven't stopped him finding the daily Feature Race bonanza as yesterday he scored the First Four again at $1,127.30

Mat has an interview today for a contract in Canberra. Big money if he can keep it but workng six days a week and ten hours a day might soak up enough time. We'll see.

The Powerbet strategy made $84 yesterday on a base bet of $5 before a late run left us wihout a close for the day. Now the question. To carryover or not to carryover. Premium had only two wins from five bets yesterday. Hey that's only 40%! Okay off to my usual suite of blood tests, my six monthly check up.

Wednesday 10th February: Just getting ahead. The dentist looms at 10.30 but I just replacing some temporary fillings. No biggie. Greg came home after the dentist Tuesday and his spirits were lifted when he saw that yet another Daily Feature Race with the winner, Quinella, Exacta, Trifecta and First Four had saluted. Premium had a win and a place from three bets. I havent checked the 'Key to Winning Consistently III' qualifiers but I'm sure you have.

The new Powerbet strategy is off to a flying start. Ken and Michael both reported to me today. I can also confirm the Seminar is filling up fast but one thing. Please do not try to book thorugh the Resort. All bookings are through us. Barbara reported that she was unable to book as the resort was booked out, well that is partly our bulk booking. We can take at least eight more people. We might even be able to take more. I will report on that in our Thursday report.

In the meantime Greg is already steaming away on his article for the Winter Magazine. He feels that although we have a good product with our Ratings there are a lot of readers out there who don't quite get the best way to use them. I for one will be keen to see the result.

Tuesday 9th February: I'm off to Sydney this morning to see my property at Normanhurst which had 210mm of rain in a couple of hours at the weekend. New carpet is going down today. Glad it wasn't already in. It might be O.K. Luckily it is at the top of the drive but still gets very wet at the best of times. It goes on sale this week. Day 9 with Matt.

Ken gave my new Powerbet strategy a go yesterday. He thought it might have been a bad day to start, nevertheless he won anyway. I have now put over 1,000 bets from the database through and it is still showing excellent profits. One series is from December last year and the 600 bets I put through at the office were from Ferbruary last year. Did I have to apply the Stop Loss? Yes, several times but it always came back with more profit.

I am now committed to the Winform Seminar at Raffertys Resort commencing the week of March 15th. For those who attended my week long seminars at Raffertys since the mid nineties, attendance at this one is Free. The resort has provded an all inclusive accommodation and meals package of just $595 for the event. I am looking forward to catching up with many of the friends I made through these Seminars in the past, many of whom are now full time professional punters.

For those who have never been but always wanted to. Now is the time. I don't expect to be able to do any Seminars after this one. For anyone who wishes to come and see how it is done, I have reduced the cost to just $1,190 all inclusive. That is just enough to cover our costs but it will be worth it if we can produce some more succesful punters.

While waiting for Ros before I go I have just run the Powerbet plan through for last Saturday. By 2.30 it was $240 up on a $5 base bet. wiht an average of just $11 per bet. I hope to be demonstrating this and other Powerbet strategies at the Seminar.

Monday 8th February: Another dreary day with rain then no rain then rain again etc. I decided to try something based on my day with Matt Saturday. Using the ratings and Powerbet I backed the top three horses as far as I could go and still make 100% based on the fixed prices. I did not back any runner with a FIXED PRICE GREATER THAN $21. The strategy seems to work but now I need to go back to the database and try many days, not just a few. I will also probably include the C Plan horses only in those races, provided I can make 100%.

A question. Is there anyone out there who has already tried this? My feeling is that there would be.

A second question. How unlucky were we with Grandslam? A hair's breadth robbed us of the $13+ winner that made all the difference. How many seconds were there?

Sunday 7th February: My son has an uncanny knack of picking winners, often from left field. He is just totally undisciplined and likes to drink while he is doing it. There is no staking plan, only "if I'm winning bet bigger" but this could be equallly applied if losing.

He has changed a little bit in that he now starts with a $5 bet and mostly two horses per race. Yesterday I agreed to put his bets on at home provided we ran a test of Powerbet. I had tried him with this some years ago and he actuallly did it using Winform selections and my money and made a solid profit but after a couple of hours got bored and stopped. He didn't like the rigidness of betting using just the Winform Selections.

Yesterday I used the Winform Ratings and he used his own selections and sometimes they agreed. The end result is that we bet from two to four Selections a race. There were 120 bets altogether and only 18 winners with an average price of $5.59 which represents a level stakes loss of 16%. Using the Powerbet program we made a profit of $196. Our last series actually ended up at -$3.60 but prior to the last winner we were on our way down the proverbial.

Yesterday's Daily Feature Race was a good one and Members should thank Prue for it. The recomendation was to stand out Typhoon Tracy, not difficult. The Quinella Not difficult. The recommended Trifecta $93 and the First Four if you took it $642.

Saturday 6th February: So far so good with Mat. I had a parlay yesterday, just for the place. Three legs up easily even though none would have passed the 'Key to Winning Consistently III' Rules. Then the last bet was a short priced favourite. It misssed the kick by three lengths and just missed third place. A small loss instead of a big win.

Greg was very confident with the Daily Feature Race yesterday. The result? A $2200+ Trifecta and the Quinella $90+. Unfortunately I was out picking Matt up from work and missed it completely. There's a lot to be said for getting your bets on early but to be honest, I have far too many distractions.

I have tentatively earmarked the 16th March for a Winform Seminar at Raffertys Resort. Arrive Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday work and Thursday head home. For previous attendees the Seminar is free except for accomodation and meals. For anyone else cost is same plus $595 for the two days of the Seminar itself. Interested? Drop me an email garry.r@hunterlink.net.au. It is a great opportunity to mis with those who have been there and done it, and hopefully are still doing it.

This is probably the last time I will have an event like this, if it goes ahead. I need at least eight people but can accommodate up to fifty.

Today we have many Grandslam Selections which reflects the comencement of the better quality races. A good day lies ahead if we are right.

Friday 5th February: Day 6. A full week. I had some interesting emails from yesterday. One concerned a regular who tried to convince a couple of workmates that they too should try the Winform Selections. The result? The first friend took one look at the rules and gave up without even trying. I guess he is the type that needs it all done for him. Does that include placing the bets and spending the proifts? No he definitely wanted the profits for himself but spending 5 - 10 minutes a day to get it didn't appeal to him.

The second guy got the express servcie with Ken giving him the final selections evey day for what was a good winning week. He was another no taker because he din't liek the prices. Hey! It finished in front didn't it? Yeah but he doesn't like to win on short priced horses. Well maybe I don't either but with a strike rate of close to 50% and a regular profit I love it. So do the Subscribers.

Thursday 4th February: I had a query overnight from Tom. The query concerned a runner on Tuesday in a set weights maiden. In the 'Key to Winning Consistently III' Rules David Bendeich defines the 'classes' he uses and these include set weights and set weight maidens. In his rules it may say "no set weights". It is important to understand that it does not say "no set weight maidens" therefore the horse mentioned qualified under the rule although in the end it didn't matter because the track remained officially Dead and no bet. Pity. It did win. Yesterday from two bets it was a first and second.

With so much success you would think that everyone who reads the diary would be a Premium Subscriber and they are not of course. This morning at 5.15 a.m. I had one of fthose sudden eureka moments and it dawned on me. A lot of punters are bored with consistent winners. With Premium you know you're going to win, Some could see that as boring. Betting them in parlays makes it a lot more interesting because although you are going to win you don't know when you are going to get a string of winners and a big payout.

The same applies to Quaddies and the like I guess. It is exciting when you get the first leg and then the second and the third and by the time they run the fourth you are in an absolute muck lather, just like the horses you have selected.

It's day 5 with Matt. I better make sure he's got up. See ya.

Wednesday 3rd February: Day 4 and Matt slept in but we made it. A pleasant surprise when I checked my accout last night. Powerplay Subscribers scored the Treble of $391 at Cessnock. The Quaddie should have paid about $600 but Unitab paid $1,594 and NSW and Stab paid $2,400.

An expected track upgrade at Warnambool did not hapen in time for our first two Premium Selections but the third one won easily. You didn't get rich on the dividend but "better than losing" as they say. My one good bet at $17+ came unstuck when the rider was dislodged at the start. It took half an hour for the stewards to decide if his fall entilted punters like myself to s refund. It didn't apparently.

Greg's tooth drama continues and it is now a possibility that he will lose it. Luckily it's at the back so he won't lose that toothy grin when he gets a winner. Greg continues to call Members daily but with 4,000 past and present Members it may take a while before he has introduced himself to everyone.

Tuesday 2nd February: A number of things are happening today. My milk has expired for one thing. Matt is successfully off to his third day on his new job, Ros is heading off to my daughters place for a few days as my son in law is conducting conferences in Adelaide.

Yesterday I was busy reviewing the Premiums. I had just two opportuntiies for a bet. I had a good win on a C Plan Race at Stawell but gave it all back when our Daily Feature Race 2nd rated selection lost to our Daily Feature Race Third Rated horse. At least we got the Quinella. Don't you hate it when your horse (our top rater) breaks through the barrier and uses up its energy and then is passed fit to start. That one is still running.

I also just read Greg's Blog and find I have to report on Parlay Magic with Premium. Well it was interesting. For a $1o parlay the profit since October was just $75 and for the Place Parlay it was $6419. What a difference but of course with runs of 21 and 23 places in a row at times it should come as no surprise. The question is? If everybody does it, will the place prices hold up?

As for Money Factory, well it's a no brainer. You hardly got out of first gear. I prefer either level stakes if you have a big bank already or Professional Staking Plan if you don't.

Just on Greg. He hadn't been to the dentist for over ten years when he split a tooth. Okay off in a hurry Thursday. Friday he had lunch and the filling comes out, off again. Then over the weekend it'a all fine until dinner Sunday night and you guessed it. Gone again so off yesterday arvo. I reckon Karen should check what this dentist looks like! Bu that's right, she was off to Wednesday so he had to take a different one. Hopefully Greg can find some time to pick winners today.

Monday 1st February: A good result yesterday with a $4.20 Premium winner. Powerplay had a Quaddie and Treble over the weekend but not enough to turn a profit. We do make aprofit with these but you do need a good bank behind you to hold the fort until the big dividends come in.

Ken emailed to say that the $13+ winner at Toowoomba made his day Saturday and then a $15+ winner did the same at Kyneton yesterday. Ken is using Powerbet with the Winform Ratings.

Condolences to our long term Member whose Tasmanian Derby runner ran unplaced on Saturday. At least it was an excuse for a nice holiday, and congratulations to the long suffering Michael from Iasbet whose Daberos Jag finally won a race at Geelong last week.

Sunday 31st January:I hope you took notice and followed up on Toowoomba. We scored three of the seven winners including a $13.50 shot. The Weekend Feature race was successful and so was the Daily Feature Race with a $8+ winner and $14.50 Quinella. Grandslam was successful with two winners and if only those five places turned to winners. It will happen.

Premium had 3 wins and five places from the six selections so the consistency is well and truly there. We just need better orices. My personal each way special Wanted came second again after looking the winner in the Lightning.

Saturday 30th January: The first Group One of the season today with some of Australia's fastest sprinters down the straight at Flemington in the Coolmore Lightning Stakes. Some trainers are hoping this is a stepping stone to an invitation to Royal Ascot. At 6.30am the track manager gave Flemington out as a Dead 5, but assures punters the track will be a good 3 early in the program.

There were two Premium and one Gold yesterday for two winners at $2.00 and $3.20 We are expecting a lot of action today with Grandslam Selections.

Friday 29th January: My son starts work today. If all goes well it could be permanent. As usual he is starting out enthusiastic. We will see. It is like a lot of first time punters who have just had a win. They remain happy while they are still winning but when a run of losers comes along they run the other way.

Sometimes this is justified if the method they are using turns out to be a dud but when is a method a dud? Is it after 100 bets with a loss of half your bank? Or should you go 1,000 bets? Reality is a tough beast. 1,000 is close to the answer but a trend won't become evident until many hundreds of bets have passed. It is a serious test and not all of the methods I have tried over the years have worked.

The plans that have worked and continue towork are our own Best Bets, the Grandslam (currently on a losing run but never had a losing year since 1993) and of course, the Premium. The C Plan works as well.

I intend setting aside a day in February / March for a one day mini seminar at our offic es for just four people at a cost of just $295 each. I'll let you know when that is.

Thursday 28th January: Yesterday our Premium runners placed in photos but after four wins in a row Tuesday we are in good shape.”

We had a query from a client “what do we do when there is no place betting?" The answer is that if you are betting place and the field is four or less you simply bet for the win and that’s how we record them.  We don’t actually get many of these.

Wednesday 27th January: My Aussie Day BBQ has finished and I have just checked the results. Five qualifying Premiums or Gold for four wins and a second. That's $1611 profit for a $10 parlay. Most of our Premium Subscribers bet $100 and up so is that $16,000 or $32,000? and possibly more depending where you placed your bets. As I've said so often "you just never know when it's going to happen" you just know it is.

We don't get complaints from Premium subscribers and you can see why. Yes we do get the occasional niggle about the prices but no such niggles Tuesday.

Tuesday 26th January: It's good to be an Australian. We really do live in one of the best countries in the world.

There was nothing much on yesterday, I couldn't find a Daily Feature Race and Powerplay subscribers had the day off. There was one Premium which lost after leading them a merry dance until the end but then fading and missing the place.

Like many, I have a family BBQ this arvo.

Monday 25th January: Three Premiums, all qualified for a win and a place. Later today you can see early Tuesday on the Saturday page for Saturday subscribers. Tomorrows ratings wull be on both the Tuesday and the Saturday page. We provide the holiday meetings to all Saturday ratings subscribers.

Tomorrows ratings are available as a once off for non subscribers. imply clcik the bookshop menu on the menu to the left and choose Winform Top Five ($15) for tomorrows top five rated horses in each race (emailed tonight) or Trial ratings for our ratings for every horse after scratchings ($22) emailed at 10.30 or 11.30 if you want WA scratchings included..

Sunday 24th January: I hope you read the diary yesterday. We score three of the six winners at Toowoomba including the $61 winner of the last. It's so good to see Toowoomba come back onto our calendar. Powerbet users would be ecstatic.

Three qualifying Premiums yesterday for two wins. The third horse missed completely. Our Daily Feature Race scored the winner, quinella, trifecta, exacta and first four. The Weekend Feature Race scored with our recommended special on top. Fat Talker at $6+ was a winner for the free systems.

I didn't see any of the action yesterday as I was at a friend's daughters wedding which was staged outdoors in 46 degree heat. Although it was all over fast enough we were both sunburnt and soaked in sweat. The reception was great and gave me a chance to have a different focus from my normal Saturday.

We know, thanks for the numerous emails, that the race times were out yesterday. It is a computer glitch that couldn't be resolved in time. I can assure you that it has been rectified for today. We will have a chance to look at our "infected" computer tomorrow.

Not a single Grand Slam selection yesterday. That is a very rare occurence. Good luck today.

Saturday 23rd January: Not a lot to report. One qualifying Premium yesterday which won. A lot of heat around, 46 in Wallsend yesterday, it really is that time of the year. A lot of Good tracks which leads to shorter pirces on winners but generally more of them. You also see more horses "get a grip" and burn down the outside. Horses which have been nowhere on softish tracks suddenly improve out of sight.

Tuesday is a much bigger Racing day than tomorrow but I will be looking forward to Toowoomba where we are now back in action aftre taking into account Racing on the new cushion track.

Friday 22nd January: There were 4 Premium Selections yesterday. 1 Win and 2 Placings. Prue has been working very hard on the Autumn Magazine this week since her return from leave. Be sure to check out IASbet Australia Day Promotions there is certain to be something there to suit most punters this weekend. Greg and I are heading to Nelson Bay for a few days to recharge after a busy Christmas period in the Winform Office.

Thursday 21st January: Those who know me know my situation with my son. We're selling up the Sydney house and getting something cheaper and closer. In the meantime I have had to allocate every cent and unfortunately that includes my betting bank, until the other property is sold.

Well now isn't that the signal you have been waiting on? Now you can get on all those horses I was going to be on and maki ng a fortune on. I'll be back of course but I also remember the last time this happened to me. I did come back and win a fortune and I am still persisting with sone parlays and quaddies etc. You only need one good one of those.

In the meantime I will have more time to do one on one training sessions and the first of those is next week when Brian drives all the way in from the outback. It costs $295 for a 4-5 hour training session which is refundable with a ratings subscription and or Powerbet or Money Factory program.

Yesterday there were three Premium qualifiers for a win and all three were placed. I'm getting sick of this continual procession of places and eagerky await more wins. There are four bets today.

Wednesday 20th January: Two Premiums yesterday for a win and two places. I actually added two other horses for one win but lost heavily. I headed off to Sydney today at 5.30 a.m. to start clearing out my son's house. After I loaded the rubbish truck it was back to Wallsend where I have just arrived. Luckily the traffic wasn't too bad. There are three or four Premiums today likely so maybe today is the day when I finally score another big win.

Race 6 at Randwick today is an interesting one with the same horse and jockey combination for several runners in a similar race last start at Rosehill. For today each of those runners is at a different stage of fitness and with a different weight and barrier. Will their jockeys ride them differently to last start and how will they finish today? Of course there are 7 or 8 other runners who haven't competed against this group which the handicapper has tried to bring together. The runners are 4,8,9,10,12. Moderna has switched jockeys (T Berry for N Berry) and is the only one of the five which had bad luck last start.

Tuesday 19th January: It never hurts to see a $40+ winner in the Winform Top Two. Pass The Bubbly was our second rated horse in the 6th at Moruya but to be honest we had already made a stack just in the first few races as winner after winner came in. It was a magic day for Powerbet users as well although it is not one of our better courses.

Twelve of the favourites yesterday were not in the Winfrom Top Two and only one of those won. Of the four favourites that were in the Top Two three won.

You may be interested to know that all of our Books and Magazines are in public libraries across the country including the NSW State Library and National Library. Anyone can view these but you qwould like to think that they are so cheap to buy anyway that you would want your own copy. We send these to libraries so that the disadvantaged and low income earners can benefit. Anyhow, it is good to know that if we had a fire and all available copies were destroyed that there is somewhere they are still available.

The other interetsing point is that although everything is stored electronically, they are also stored as printed originals.

Monday 18th January: Five Premium bets yesterday for three wins and the other two were placed although to be honest, one of the winning Premiums did not qualify under the 'Key to Winning Consistently III' Rules. I won over $1,100 on a place Parlay but dropped that on the win Parlay. Overall I was up a little bit in more ways than one. I added 0.7 of a kg courtesy of Saturday's baby naming party and a nice lunch then dinner out yesterday. I was up at 5:00 a.m. pounding the pavement today in an effort to start dropping it off.

Another nice Daily Feature Race winner yesterday at $6.50.

Sunday 17th January: 34% winners in the Top Two Winform Rated horses on Saturday. One Premium and it won nicely. Grandslam had two winners and five of the six placed including one tragic second at $14 and $3 for the place. Worse. The Flemington track was upgraded and had we known that information in advance we would have had 'Danzylum' at $15.

I spent my day at my nieces son's naming day. It was pleasant enough but very hot. Ros insisted I dress up so I roasted while the majority splashed around in the pool. Opportunity lost. When I did get home the wind had died down and it wasn't good enough to justify a sail. Maybe today some time?

Saturday 16th January: A good day's action today. We are expecting about 6 Grandslam selections. Good quality races returning to Melbourne. The Melbourne Track is still a Dead 5 with upgrades possible later in the day. Sydney has a Dead track all other tracks are expected to be good.

There were 2 Premium bets yesterday. A $3.00 winner and a second placed. 2 Best Bets for a win and a second. We welcome Prue back from leave on Monday.

We find it incredible that Gunnedah and Mornington remained dead tracks yesterday when the weather was hot particularly at Gunnedah 32C.

Friday 15th January: Garry is back in the office today after a big day in Sydney. We had just one Premium bet yesterday which did not quailify under the KTWC rules. It finished unplaced so money saved. Our Daily feature race was the BMW Classic at Canterbury last night produced the $6.00 winner with a strong win from News Alert.

We also got the Quinella , Trifecta , First 4.We also snared the Canterbury $1045 Quaddie and $238 Treble in Canterbury with our top 5 selections. Our subcribers who purchased this for $15 more than covered their investment. Our PBC subscribers had 4 bets for 2 wins and a 3rd. We are still waiting for a couple of $10 plus winners in sucession to get back a chunck of Decembers losses. It will come.

Thursday 14th January: Not enough C plan races yesterday with only one win from four if you had the patience to wait all day. Powerplay subscribers haven't had a decent Quaddie or Treble for a while so let's hope it is soon. Just two Premium bets yesterday but one good winner at $3.50. We don't have any unhappy Premium subscribers

Our best winning services for 2009 were Grandslam, Premium and our cheapest serviceWinform Best Bets had over 40% winners, 50% in December. Our second cheapest service Daily Feature race costs just $1 per day ($363 for an annual subscription) and includes the Best Bets, Weekend Sports bets which run at 60%+ Weekend Feature race and Daily Feature race which just a couple of weeks ago scored a $14,000 First Four. Who can't afford a dollar a day?

Our regular ratings subscribers are still going strong and are the backbone of our business. Our Top Two rated horses regularly produce 34% winners at $5.50 or better. That's not a level stakes profit of course but it is closer than any other ratings service on the market and our two professional staking plan products Powerbet ($770) and Money Factory Professional Edition ($1595) are the very best staking products available and used wisely in conjunction with the ratings produce long term profits.

Wednesday 13th January: I received an email this morning. It was a complaint that we hadn't responded to an email sent last Saturday. It was the first time I had seen the email from Wojtek. I became aware that some emails hadn't come through when I spoke to another client who assured me that they sent one. Why do these gliches happen? I don't know. I can say that we respond to every email the day we receive them, obviously not when the office is closed. Weekend emails are responded to on Monday.

From time to time we get a complaint that a client hasnt been able to access our Internet site for a service or an SMS has not been received. If we hadn't done our job we would not get one complaint but many. The technology we have these days is wonderful but there are still gliches and we are all victims of them at some time or other. It is pointless playing the blame game. Last weekend we could not bet with Centreracing and nor could anyone else as the site was under attack. Did I make a fuss? No. What I did was bet elsewhere until their server came up.

We did get a complaint that we weren't there to answer the phone at 12.15 last Saturday, well we can't be there all the time, in fact on weekends we will mostly be working from elsewhere. If I worked 9-5 like most people do I wouldn't have been there anyway, fact is I often work from 5 a.m. for a couple of hours then head off to the "physical" office where I am until around 5 p.m. When I arrive home I check my email and answer any queries I have recieved and I also work every Saturday and Sunday for at least three or four hours, mostly longer and late saturday night I am checking results and enteriing them in our programs.

So di I get upset when (some) customers complain that I should be at the office to answer phone calls? You decide.

Please Note Late Track Changes and updates to Ratings. The Track at Sandown was upgraded to Good and Murray Bridge was downgraded to Dead.

Tuesday 12th January: Two Premium bets yesterday for a win and a second. The last horse had to work his way through the middle of the field and couldn't stretch out until way too late. Witht the abandonment of Moe yesterday it made a dull racing day. Weather conditions at Benalla today are extreme and already 50% of the runners have been scratched. There is some light rain expected this afternoon.

There's just one Powerplay venue today so I'll have a go at the Quaddie.

Monday 11th January: A lower than average strike rate for the top two rated horses yesterday but the C Plan had four winners from eight races and a clear profit whch took until the end of the day altough you could have quit after the sixth eligible race. The Premiums were disappointing yesterday with just the one winner from the eligible selections. I failed with our Daily Feature Race as welll. It was I think the first failure for the week.

Personally I copped a big loss as I had a parlay bet with only one winner and that returns norhing.

Sunday 10th January: When our very first "special" of the day broke down and had to be destroyed I spoke to Brenton and told him it was a bad start. It got worse with all six specials going down without a yelp, even at odds on. It's worse than embarrassing, it is financially disastrous for ourselves and our clients who rely on our advice. The Premiums had four bets for one short priced winner, although one of the losers did not qualify under the KTWC3 rules.

The ratings found three major winners at the Gold Coast in Military Rose (2nd rated) Graceful Anna (top rated) and Hiddden Wonder (2nd rated).plus Power Of Ed and Plain Magic were both top rated and won minor races there. Powerplay subscribers scored the Perth Treble but it was one of our lowest ever Treble dividends.

Today can only get better. Can't it?

Saturday 9th January: Five Premium bets yesterday for three good winners. The others placed but Testagold ran 3rd in a NTD race. Only The Best has a solid profit since January 2005 but last year recorded it's first ever loss. Here's hoping 2010 sees us back in the money. There were just over 100 bets in 2009 so statistically a very small sample.

Grandslam has had two losing years in the last 21. The last of those losing years was about 1992 and the other 1993 I think. The vast majority of punters would have been long gone and missed the last 16 winning years. Luckily I stayed in and 1994 was until a couple of years ago my best ever winning year.

My worst losing run in 2008? A loss of $60,000 over a six week period. My best winning day? +$50,000. My worst losing run in 2009? In a one week period I lost $50,000. My best winning day? One week later I won $37,000 and then a couple of days later another $10,000. And then a steady return until a losing run in December which is just turning around now.

Powerplay found a nice $17.80 winner in the first leg of the Quaddie at canberra yesterday but missed the big pay. Good luck today.

Friday 8th January: Two Premium bets yesterday for two winners. Canhedance at $16.10 was our best winner yesterday as we scored 40% winners in the top two rated horses. We also scored the Daily Feature Race yet again. Is that seven from the last nine? Who else scores like this for a dollar a day?

It's my mum in law's birthday today and whatt started as a bring your own takeaway on the lawn has turned into a major party. Ros decided to actualy cook a caje instead of a storebought one but $80 in ingredients later and about 20 hours work? I hope the old girl likes it.

Eleven new sunscribers yesterday. I hope they like us too. One thing is for sure. They should win.

Thursday 7th January: A day at the Mannering Park office today. A chance to tidy up and do some record keeping. Two Premium bets yesterday. Neither passed the rules but one placed while the other was also second but in a three horse race. Members are taking advantage of our 30% discount on our Staking programs. That offer expires 4 p.m. tomorrow and is as genuine as you can get.

Nothing assists a punter more than the use of these programs. For some it is a major aid in discipline by simply having to record every bet. That in itself is a major improvement for many punters. Anyhow, simply order via the Winform bookshop and in the notice to us section type New Year Offer or you can call the office (02) 49501747 if you wish to discuss any of the programs.

Wednesday 6th January: Criticism on a forum again. This time because in my diary I don't reveal all the results of all the selections services and all the results from our publications all the time leading to accusations of dishonesty. Well alll the results of current selection plans are on our website and have been for years. I don't post results for "other" authors such as Roger Biggs or David Bendeich although I do quote the results of using his latest set of rules with our Premium product. There was initially criticism of the David Bendeich books even though all of these sold out. We agree. Not all the methods continued to be profitable which is why Bendeich does an annual update, the last of these being published for free to previous purchasers. I don't know of anyone else who does this. Noboby expects any method to win forever.

I research and review all of our ratings and selection methods all of the time, not to find a new version of the Holy Grail but to at least keep the strike rate up. I have to do this because things are constantly changing with new track surfaces, new venues and so on and a lot of Class changes and different rules e.g. the whip rules.

On a brighter note Andrew called yesterday to thank me for our efforts. Andrew and his Dad share both Powerbet and the Premiums and Andrew said "Did you know that we have just had a run of 23 places in a row?" Well no I have to be honest I didn't notice. I still can't believe that betting place only on the qualifying Premium selections has made a consistent 9.8% profit on turnover for such a long time.

On our results page we are changing things slightly. We want to list Premium selections under just that one banner so the SE/SES/WW etc labels would be gone forever maybe. Let's have your thoughts on this as we don't want to upset any subscribers. Winform Gold will coninue under their own label even though 2009 has not been profitable we do get the excitement of a good priced winner which is such a good thing for multiple players.

Tuesday 5th January: The advantage of having a second full time form analyst here is apparent with the Daily Feature race being so successful. Yesterday's Feature at Moruya was recommended for two win bets with one being beaten narrowlay and a Quinella /Trifecta with five runners. Not only were these successful but had you also had a go at the First Four it paid over $14,000. Punter can access the Daily Feature on a 1902 number for just $1.10 each day. Punters wanting to access it via the Internet pay just $363 per year which is just one dollar for each Racing day (no racing Goood Friday or Christmas Day).

I had some interesting calls yesterday and two in particular related their success with the C Plan. I know I haven't mentioned it for some time but it has been so regularly successful I don't think about it. I'm just disppointed that with all the work I have neen doing I just haven't had the chance to bet it myself.

Monday 4th January: Back to the office today like most of us I think. No action worth speaking of yesterday but I did read about 200 pages of a book, watched a movie and did some Money Factory and Powerbet workouts. It conformes that Money Factory works bets on high strike rate shorter priced horses and Powerbet works bets with two horses per race and high ($5.50 or better) dividends. For more information on those and other staking plans click the staking king banner on the right.

Sunday 3rd January: 35% of yesterdays winners were in the Winform top two rated horses. That's about average. Ken emalied to say he had a good day with Powerbet. With one race to go before he declared a stop loss the good priced winner arrived right on time. There was just the one Premium qualifier for one winner by four lengths.

Recently I have achieved a rare ability to select horses right at their peak only to see them backed off the map like Rabukka and Custodian in the last two days and then finish at the very rear of the field.

It's not entirely hopeless as we scored the winner of the Weekend Feature Race at $9 and yesterday's Daily Feature Race Quinella at over $45.

Saturday 2nd January: New Year's Eve might have been more of a blast if things had gone differently. My son in law rented a minibus to take us to Sydney and on the way I kept saying "somtheing is wrong, it is all going too smoothly." You see there was no traffic at all going into the city and little coming back and this is at what is usually peak time. We arrived at Circular Quay and parked 200 metres from the nightclub venue and arrived two hours ahead of schedule.

You couldn't go to a pub and have a drink, every one was full to overflowing and you had to pay just to go in. We couldn't go for a walk as the girls had high heels on. So it was 2 hours in a queue and you might have thought "well that is it, the payback for our smooth ride to date." No that was not it.

Going back home was the problem and no it wasn't the traffic. The further we drove the dimmer the mini bus lights became but with 30 minutes to go the crunch came. Going down the big dipper towards notorious accident spot the Moonee Moonee bridge the lights went out, the motor stopped in 120 kmh traffic. We were lucky. There was just enough momentum to take us 200 metres past the bridge and into a maintenance lane. Had we not, we would have been calling an ambulance and not a mechanic as we were invisible to the high speed traffic.

We ended up stuck for over two hours. The New Year euphoria quickly evaporated and the day didn't get any better. There were plenty of winners but not the horses that I backed and then to top it off I fell asleep to be woken by a text from Greg informing that our Daily Feature race bet had just won at $9. It can only get better from here.

Today's races look ordinary but often those are the days that fire up. I hope so, there could be four or five Premium bets today depending on track conditions. One from three yesterday.

Friday 1st January 2010: Happy New Year everyone from Greg & the winform team. Garry is down in Sydney after enjoying the fireworks. One Premium bet yesterday for one winner. The track at Randwick today should be upgraded to good by Race 1. The Track manager at 6.30am this morning at Flemington has gave the Flemington track out as a dead 5 with some parts in the back straight a little firmer. They had some unexpected rain after a very hot spell. Heres hoping we all back heaps of winners in the new decade..

Thursday 31st December": Happy New Year everyone. One Premium bet yesterday for one winner. Our New Year Resolution? Bet more and win more. No mistakes (unless they are winners) . We will try to raise our customer satisfaction rating from 95% to 110%.

Saturday subscribers will see the ratings for New Years Day on the Saturday page. We'll start with a winning day. We're taking our family to Sydney tonight for dinner and the "show". The second show is people trying got get home when the first public transport start at 4.45a.m tomorrow. Greg and Karen have the early shift so all is well.

Wednesday 30th December: Yes there was an abandoned meeting yesterday but it was Rocky. I wish it had been Coffs Harbour as the winners came out of nowhere. Still, the Winform Top Two scored five winners from sixteen races (there was one race with no ratings). No specials yesterday.

We had that Victorian problem yesterday. Yarra Glen stayed dead for the whole meeting in spite of good weather all day.

Four solid meetings today with only Canterbury expected to be rain affected.

Tuesday 29th December: I'm always glad when the holidays end and we can get back to normal, businessswise at least. That won't happen until next week but while on holidays a lot of our members bet more than usual. With a 37% strike rate in the Top Two rated horses it was hard to lose and I picked up $2.5k myself with a total outlay of less than $500. There were some very nice winners.

I also managed to fit in a couple of hours fishing with my son in between showers (it is still raining today) and we caught and gave back a dozen or more fish (I'm the only one who eats fish and Ros had started a beef roast).

There are only three meetings set down for today and I wouldn't be surprised to see Coffs Harbour abandoned if they've had anyhting like the rain we have had. Yesterday both Premium bets placed although one failed the rule test.

Monday 28th December: A quick trip to the shopping centre ended once we saw the crowds. People do seem to have plenty of money to spend. Three Premium bets yesterday for s good win at $3.70 and all three placed and all three above average place dividends too. All passed 'The Key to Winning Consistently III' Rules.

Powerplay Subscribers scored the Naracoorte Quaddie $1957 and Treble $341. We need a few more of those but they will come. I am still looking for another mammoth result.

I believe there may be some spaces left on the UK and Ireland Racing tour I am going on next June. If any Members are interested you could email me at garry.r@hunterlink.net.au. It's not cheap but it is a once in a lifetime sort of trip for me.

Todays races can also be found on the Saturday file as it is a Holiday in NSW. On a sour note, my son was to start a two and a half year contract next monday. He was honest and admitted to his bipolar medication but passed his medical. He was given a starting date and shift. He has now been advised he is "not required" Is honesty the best policy?

Sunday 27th December: Only 28% winners in the Top Two Winform Rated horses yesterday but some good prices among them. No joy with the Quaddies or Trebles. Two qualifying Premiums for two winners, however the first at the Gold Coast was affected by a track change and I was on. That horse also would have been a selection under a diffferent qualification anyway so it will stay in. The third Premium Special failed the rule test but won anyway.

Another seven meetings today but not a lot of action tomorrow which is a holiday in NSW so the Monday meetings will appear under Saturday for weekend only Subscribers.

Next year we are planning a revamp of the Ratings so that you will be able to buy such things as individual meetings or individual States. There are Members who only do Sydney or only do Melbourne and so on. So we can get an idea how many would like different options please email me direct garry.r@hunterlink.net.au.

Saturday 26th December: We hope everyone had an enjoyable Christmas Day celebrating with family and friends. Greg and I had a relaxing day in our first Christmas in Newcastle. Today we are back to a huge Boxing Day's Racing Australia wide. The Feature Race is at Randwick The Summer Cup over 2400m on a dead track. There is plenty of drizzly rain falling here in Newcastle so we assume Sydney is getting the same. Please Note the Wellington meeting has been abandoned.

Thursday 24th December: I won't wish you all a Happy Christmas although I do hope you have one. It has to be for most of us the busiest time of the year. Getting through it without an incident is what I wish for everyone. How many people will lose loved ones in their rush to get away? I'm not really a pessimist but we are like lemmings to the sea at this time of the year. Do enjoy yourself and be tolerant of other family Members. It is this time they need you most.

Racing is in full swing and it is a very busy week. Just check Greg's blog to see what I mean. That week from Boxing Day to New Year is full on. People actually go to the races and have fun like they used to do every Saturday. I was discussing this with yet another Bookmaker who has handed in his licence to field at the races. Three years ago he wrote 2,500 betting tickets on Cup day. In 2008 it was 1600 and this year less than 1,000.

In June next year I am going to Royal Ascot and Ireland to see their big race days. I will then follow up with a trip to the Darwin Cup. The comparison will be interesting. Have a good day today. Just three race meetings but some interesting looking bets. I'll put mine on then from midday our Winform Team will eat drink and reminisce for a while before charging back in Saturday. Happy Christmas everyone. Drive careful and please be here when we get back.

Wednesday 23rd December: Another Premium knocked over because the deliberately watered track did not get upgraded in time. Luckily I was on it for an easy collect after the horse originally broke through the barrier. Jeune De Couer was a likely winner in Race 6 at Seymour but it missed the start hopelessly before putting in an amazing run before running out of puff. It is not often I blackbook a horse but I do want to be on it next time in a similar race.

Tuesday 22nd December: Just the one Premium yesterday for a place. There's that place again. Launceston was a good venue for us yesterday. Nothing spectacular, juts a lot of winners in the Top Two. Prue is actually taking time off from Christmas Eve. It will be her first decent holiday for a couple of years.

I Dutch Bet a few races yesterday but only nailed one winner and it wasn't good enough. My concentration levels are a bit off so I will still attack the Premiums and Quaddies and Trebles, as they are no work at all, (scored the Launceston Treble yesterday $349 for $8 outlay.) and get back to the punting "work" on Saturday. Of course if anything just flies off the page I will be on it.

Monday 21st December: Two qualifying Premiums yesterday for a win and a 2nd. My family Christmas was a big success especially as my in law's new partner Geoff donned the Santa suit and had the tribe fascinated. The younger brigade thought he was the real deal. It couldn't have gone off better.

Punting wise I added my Daily Feature Race Selection as a third leg of an all up. It failed totally although our Second Rated horse in the feature did win. Three and a half mad days till the real Santa arrives. We close midday Thursday. A lot of the Ratings and Selections will now be done away from the office so don't call on any of the holidays. We won't be there but we will be there for normal office hours all the other days.

I wonder what Greg "the Guru" Horn has to say about his weekend? I'll have to wait to see that as it has just gone 6:00 a.m.

Sunday 20th December: 35% winners in the Winform Top Two yesterday including some longshots. Plenty of legs in the Trebles and Quaddies yesterday but none in the right order. Ten Premium Selections yesterday. The first didn't qualify and didn't run anywhere. The second would have qualified had the Flemington track been upgraded one race earliier Of the other eight only one won but sixn placed and some of the dividends were amazing including a $2 and $2.30 dividend. I had a really bad day with running parlays for the win. Running parlays for the place though made $796 for a $10 unti stake, not that I'm recommending this. For a small player it is O.K. withbets building up on a winning run to a few hundred dollars at most. Once it gets to a few thousand you will have trouble getting your bets on without affecting the price.

Like many I will place a few bets today and check the results tomorrow as I have a family Christmas do at our house.

Saturday 19th December: One qualifying Premium yesterday and it won, by a lip.. One did not meet the rules and the search party is still out. Someone forgot to flick our solar booster switch (it was cold and raining all day yesterday) and no hot shower for Garry today. So I'm off to Sydney to retrieve my son's car. He was suspended and now disqualified after being caught driving so I will put it where he can't drive it. It means getting up at 5:00 a.m. and making it back by 10:00 a.m. Luckily Prue is in action today to cover me.

Tomorrow is my wife's side that will be here for a Christmas lunch. Not that I have a problem, it really is a good day, but how come it's always at our place each year? No one else puts their hand up and my wife Ros is a Christmas nut. Can't go anywhere in our place wihtout tripping over a garland or two. Can't wait to see the credit card.

I missed paying her David Jones account by two days last month and got slogged $35. Then this month we got hit with a $110 interest bill. Why? We paid off $1200 (we have a $10,000 interest free loan for blinds and stuff for the new house) but their wonderful system took all that money off our interst free loan and charged us daily interest on our everyday purchases. Why? Because that's how their system works. I feel sorry for the person who took my wife's call but at least the interest and charges have been reversed and the walls have stopped reverbrating. My advice? Check your credit and store cards just in case you haven't noticed. I'm sure they hope you don't and blithely pay up.

Greg's new punting blog should be interesting. He is that sort of character. He came close to a motza payout last night but his horse, and last leg of his all up, could only run third but it paid $5.90 for the place. We had considered it for our special bet for our contract clients but I knocked it on the head and for very good reasons. I wouldn't have heard the end of it had it won. You can see his ramblings by clicking the link at th top of this column.

Friday 18th December: Powerplay Subscribers were in the money again yesterday with the Treble and Quaddie at both Kyneton and Queanbeyan. We may have been lucky at Kyneton as the track was downgraded from a Good 3 to a Heavy 8. Premium Subscribers would have been in a quandry as our two bets were both at Kyneton and both passed the rules for a win and a second. Neither horse was a bet under the changed track conditions but I was already on with two Singles bets and the Double. David Bendeich has taken both bets out of his records and we have to do the same even though we showed a good win.

Thursday 17th December: A Quaddie and Treble at Ascot yesterday. Not big but it keeps the cash flow going. Three qualifying Premium selections yesterday for two wins and a second. Greg is the keeper of the Premium records and he tells me that since he started at Winform the place alone has made 9.8% profit on turnover. The win is a lot better. Greg has put together an article on Premium for the next Magazine working out the returns for level stakes and various Staking Methods for the period which to be totally honest, is a little down on normal. If you can win in a down perido it shows just how good it is.

Alan spent time with me yesterday and he and I were both amazed at how he had interpreted some strategies. I don't blame Alan for being confused. I assume that people know what I am talking about with the C Plan for example and various other things but to someone from outside a little specific information clears the picture.

It was like somoene had switched on the light. It went from: "this looks too hard for me" to "it's really simple. isn't it." And I think that is the key. A lot of people who bought David Bendeich's "Key To Winning Consistently" books took one look and stuck it in the drawer as somehting to be looked at: "when there's more time." The latest edition is put together as easy as it is possible to make it and it only takes a few minutes to get it right.

Once you understand that: A.) You only look at the Winform Premium Selections, then the last start finishing position, the type of race, the distance and the track condition you are almost there without doing any form study whatsoever. At the most it is then a simple cross check between the two free ratings provided by the TABS and you are finished.

For those with a smaller budget, you can simply apply the Rules to the Winform Best Bet Selections and improve profits dramatically. Even with small bets of $20 or so you wouls soon recover the $295 cost of the 'Key to Winning Consistently III' Rules. You might even make enough money to Subscribe to Premium and really give it a go.

Wednesday 16th December: Tuesday's results were great for Last Start Winners and the Daily Feature Race all saluting. The Last Start Winners have had 11 selections since 6th December for 6 Wins, 10 Placings. 55% strike rate. The Daily Feature Race continues to perform well with the winner coming from the Top 2 as recommended and paying $5.50.

The Daily Feature Race Subscription is $363.00 per year for non subscribers or $150.00 per year for current subscribers.

Tuesday 15th December: I had one C Plan bet for the day at Warnambool and apart from that it was a losing win bet on our Winform Gold whihch ran third.

I read an intersting quote today: "Until you change yourself, nothing much will happen". It's an interesting thought and a godesnd for punters. If you aren't winning then it is you that has to change. It is my observation that the main thing that causes punters to lose is getting off at the wrong stop. You back a few losers and all of s sudden you decide you've had enough and quit that method. If your method has been winning, why get off? It's a bit different if you jump onto something that has no past history but our Grandslam Service is a good example. Two losing years in the past twenty but I have seen so mnay people jump off we ran out of life jackets.

** Update - Guru here, I have just added yeterdays result to our Premium Spreadsheet and I am amazed. The Premiums are running at a level stakes profit of 9.8% for the place on TAB dividends since Oct. I thought the days wher long gone that selection or system could make a level stakes profit for the PLACE, There has only been run 4 losing bets in a row from the last 96 bets. Just imagine the results that could be achieved using software like Parlay Magic.

Monday 14th December: Your luck can't always be bad md so it was that Sunday Powerplay Subscribers scored the $891 Treble. Singles Subcribers got the $7.50 winner Emjay Hussey and the Daily Feature Race winner was a snack. It looks C Plan users found seven winners in the first nine eligible races, although one in particular was too short to be worth a bet.

The sad thing is that Emjay Hussey would have been an Only The Best Selection had the Moonee Valley races been on a Saturday. On a personal note, I scored Sacred Kingdom in Hong Kong so I will watch out to see if I have scored a $50 freebet from Iasbet.

I was thinking about New Edge on sunday and something hit me from the back of my head. We gave this horse out as a special to our PBC clients three weeks ago but it was unable to get a start on the day. I watched acceptances for a few days but didn't spot it again. As it turns out, one of our PBC clients remembered and backed up big time Saturday with a $20,000 plus payout for a $250 each way bet. It makes my payday somewhat modest.

It seems the boys have been picking the winners with a pin.To try to change their luck they have decided to try a fork! Wonder what Roger Biggs would say about that?

Sunday 13th December: Another Saturday and another bad day. You get that sometimes. Grandslam has had a great year but is in a slump. Luckily, there have been very few Selections lately so yesterday only two Selections. It's not a problem. As we have seen over and over again, it always wins (can't remember the last losing year but I think it was 1992).

Greg and myself have had our second longest losing run either of us have experienced with around twenty straight losers. It happens, yet at least sixteen of these have been heavily backed so we we weren't wrong about the horses. They just didn't perform. Often winners come when you least expect it. Take the last at Rosehill.

In 'Make Racing Pay' I showed how betting the Winform Top Three when you could dutch bet those three horses and make over 200% profit was a winning strategy. I haven't continously kept records but every now and then I bet when I spot the opportunity. Yesterday I chose the right time as New Edge saluted at $61 ($65.80 best Tote) and I made over $2600 on the race for a $350 outlay. It saved my day.

There were five Premium Bets yesterday for two wins and all placed although one of them was a no thrid dividend race. Tragically the best winner didn't qualify under the 'Key to Winning Consistently III' Rules.

In the last at Eagle Farm there was a First Four jackpot so I had a go. I stood Princess Qualo, our Winform Gold Selection out from seven other horses. Cost is $105 for a 50 cent unit. I should have put her in second olace too as that's where she finished and the dividend (I had all four horses) was $79970. Oh well. Maybe next time.

We are htinking of getting a syndicate together to tackle the Big 6 on STAB on boxing day. There is a jackpot of $500,000 which wil probably lead to a pool of over 2 million. To take our Top Five horses costs $15,625 and our chances of winning are still minimal but nothing ventured nothing gained. Anyone interested?

Saturday 12th December: Three Premium bets yesterday and all qualified. I got caught out with the Moonee Valley horse as I was unaware that the trcak had been upgraded to Good prior to race one. This meant that the horse qualified as a bet after being ruled out because of the expected wet conditions. We ended up with a winner and all three placed.

Maybe Flemington will be good today too. In the meantime nearly every value selection we give out with our professional clientele is being backed into favouritism and losing. It seems like we are being punished. Even today's longshot has firmed five points since we gave it out yesterday. Normally that would point to a winner but lately it's the opposite. The pattern has to break but when?

Brett Craig's latest article (to be published in the Autumn magazine) is an analysis of the Premium Selections since the new Key to Winning Consistently III' Rules were released. The period shows a strike rate of about 47% wins. That's 3% less than expected but it resulted in 14.2% profit over the six week period. Betting with Parlay Magic impoved the result by more then 50%. Staking the selections with Money Factory Professional also improved the result by a similar amount. One good thing. It didn't matter how much money got put on (we estimate our Premium subscribers bet a total of over $50,000 on each selection) the average dividend didn't change. That's the beauty of it. Bookmakers are happy to take on the sort of horse we select with Premium.

Friday 11th December: Our Winform Gold ran third, the only Premium for the day. We have some good chances today.

The Guru's Selection ran 5th after getting back but to rub salt into the wound our 3rd rated horses won at double figure odds.

Thursday 10th December: Professional Punting can be a hard life, especially when you are supplying Selections and Ratings to the professionals that rely on your judgement and expertise. Not when they are winning of course but so far this month winners have been hard to find. Premium Subscribers haven't had that problem and yesterday's big winner was icing on the cake.

We then get into that old argument "what is better? A system or on the spot form analysis?" We do both but the Premiums are a system built around our Ratings so you get a good blend of both. Our Professional Selections though involve no system at all but a judgement of our two form analysts, myself and Greg Horn based around the form, analysis and expected prices. A 3rd yesterday at $6 might seem like a good each way bet but ultimately it is winners we need as that is the most efficient way to profits.

Wednesday 9th December: We would like to apologise to our Magazine Subscribers. In the Horse Racing Australia Magazine Summer Edition (page 29) Brenton's Winning with Ratings a full section is missing. A broadcast will be sent to all subscribers tomorrow.

Tuesday 8th December: David Toulsons’ soccer bet at the Weekend was successful at $4.50 which is a sensational price for a footy bet. We have a number of Members that are using the footy bets with the Money Factory program making big money. Today the focus is on Mackay where they have the $100,000 Magic Millions Plate for 2yo.

Today's Premium is a cinch place bet - there have been 14 Selections for this rule for 11 winners and 14 places. Rule ZZ on page 45 says distance greater than 1400 m - should be less than or equal to 1400 m

Monday 7thDecember: Christmas didn't arrive early yesterday but we did end up with a winning day for Premium Subscribers. Ratings followers scored with the Wyong Quaddie in the Top Three Rated horses. We have many Ratings Subscribers who have developed their own methods for using the Ratings and who are we to say: "do something else" however we do have a number of Books available to show subscribers how to benefit from the Ratings. A number of these books are in our half price Christmas sale where you can purchase any two or more books from the Newsletter list for hall price. If you haven't received that Newsletter simply email winform@hunterlink.net.au and we'll email you back the list.

In our Winter Magazine we published a list of tracks and the strike rate and average dividends achieved for Top Two, Three Four and Five Winform Ratings. Using this list you can easily work out where are the best places to bet each day. That strategy has served many Members well. The list is slao available on our home page under Betting Tools / Winform Strike Rates.

Starting at the end of this month we will be changing the way we report our Selections. Premium will be reported as a group. This will show a more representative figure than the individual break up we have now.

Sunday 6th December: Every now and then you have a really bad day. That was yesterday but it was not a total disaster. Powerplay Subscribers still got 50% winning races but missed the WA Treble after getting the $33 winner of the second leg. Our PBC Special ran 3rd at $8 while the other two missed the place. The Premiums had a bad day (had to happen) with no winning bets.

The Winform Singles, Grandslam (only one bet) and Only The Best (one bet) all had a losing day. Wonder how we will go today?

So here it is Sunday, I still don't have Internet at home and have another 100k round trip to the Wallsend office. Christmas is coming..soon I hope.

Saturday 5th December: A good day's racing across all states today. NSW has the Festival Stakes, QLD the George Moore Stakes and in a hot (38c) WA, the Group 1 Kingston Town Classic. We are expecting good tracks in all States.

Garry and Powerplay Subscribers yesterday scored the Quaddie Ipswich $756.10, Treble Ispwich $156.80, Treble Mt Gambier $114.70, Treble Hamilton $525.60.There were 4 Premium Selections for 2 wins, 1 Place and a late Scratching at Moonee Valley.

Our PBC clients have a couple of longer priced selections today in tough races, here's hoping they can salute.

Friday 4th December:There is a lot of action today for our Powerplay subscribers. Unfortunately, no joy yesterday for our PBC subscribers. The Perth Racing hots up tomorrow with some interesting fields.

Trial Ratings for the weekend racing are available until 4pm today.

Thursday 3rd December: Here’s a note we got from Darren Hall yesterday “Garry, Did you cop that one mate, Install, the second rated at Ascot R3 led all the way to win very comfortably at $64.90 best tote. Thanks a lot Garry I am now to be Banished by another bookmaker. I'm running out man.” Powerplay was alright yesterday, particularly at Ascot where we got the Quaddie and Treble which unfortunately did not pay enough.

***For a full re-cap on Garry's experience at the 2009 Australia Racing & Sports Forum click here***

Our Premium bet on Tuesday won at the good price of $3.90 and yesterday the two Premium bets had one winner which paid $2 so a nice profit for the week to start. It looks like we will have nothing today unless Pinjarra throws something up after Scratchings.

Wednesday 2nd December: Subscriptions to Horse Racing Australia Magazine have been a very popular Christmas Gift idea in the past few weeks. At $39 for a full years subscription to the Magazine, you can't wrong, so click here to order yours now or Phone: (02) 4950 1747, gift packs are available at no additional fee. Other gift ideas and Summer Specials can be found here.

Although an average day of racing yesterday, our Winform Gold got up and won at Albany. A resonable day of racing today with Meetings at: Ascot, Ballarat, Eagle Farm, Hawkesbury, Hobart and Port Lincoln.

Its back to the drawing board today, as we are starting the production of our Autumn 2010 Magazine. More importantly we are up to our 17th issue and will have some new exciting content for the New Year.

Tuesday 1st December:
Garry has headed off to Sydney today to prepare for the Australian Racing and Sports Forum. I am sure there will be many issues of interest to all being discussed.

The Summer Edition is now available on the Website. The Magazine is now available in Newsagents. If you are interested in advertising in the Magazine please contact Prue Hawkins (02) 4950 1747.

The Daily Feature Race was successful yesterday at Port Macquarie with the Win, Quinella and Trifecta.

Monday 30th November: Of the four Premium selections that qualified under KWTC3 there were two wins and four placed. Yesterday We thought Powerplay would go well and we got three legs of the Grafton and Canberra Quaddies. In Canberra we missed the last leg. At Grafton we missed the first which is a way better result with a $949 Treble. The last leg was a $33 winner.

Our Daily Feature Race was the Canberra Cup and I recommended a Trifecta and Flexi First Four. The Trifecta paid $316.50 on Unitab. We win so many of our Daily Feature races I am amazed the service is so poorly patronised.

Our printer has got behind with envelopes and so the last 2500 Newsletters are yet to go out. Don't worry, there are lots of special offers left.

Sunday 29th November: The Eagle Farm horse that failed to qualify ran unplaced the other three placed and there was one winner. Today is Canberra Cup day and that is our Feature Race. We hope to get the First Four.

A strange ride by Harvey in the Winterbottom yesterday with Waratahs Secret apparently shying or stumbling mid way. After that Harvey took off and the run looked bad although they did run a track record and it did finish only about three lengths back.

I had a weird one Friday with Powerplay having hardly any selections in the Wagga quaddie. I added a couple more from the top three or four ratings and scored. I was disappointed to find that the Quaddie paid $2300 NSW but only $1,000 Unitab. Today I checked my account and found that there was a glitch in the Unitab dividend and it has now paid $1900+.

Powerplay is in action at Canberra and Grafton today. Todays Premium is S4. Tomorrow is the last day we nominate these. After one month everyone should be comfortable with the rules.

Saturday 28th November: Busy day of racing today, with all Premium Selections qualifying under David's Rules except for Eagle Farm. The latest Winform Newsletter is now available online to Members, simply login.

Friday 27th November:
I'm using a newer version of our Internet program and it is harder to do highlights etc. I guess I'll solve it one day. We had one $5 winner for the Winform Singles yesterday and they ar barely keeping ahead of the rising tide. The average dividend is higher but that is offset by longer losing runs.

Premium, on the other hand, rarely has a losing run although there is no joy this week as there have been hardly any selections and they haven't won. What is it ? A losing run of two or three? I think the longest in the past few months is only about seven? The offset to that wonderful performance is that the prices are a very low average. The advantage though is that Subscribers are unlikely to have their accounts closed because they backed a winning favourite or second favourite, which most of these are. Also you can usually bet as much as you like without affecting the dividends. What happened to our selection in Narrogin yesterday? I still haven't heard it in the call.

Prue and Greg will feel like a drink with the temperature at the Wyong barrier trials today being in the high thirties. Blue Tongue beer will be flowing and the free BBQ will be sizzling while Karen and I willl just struggle along here in the air conditioning. We have about 2,500 Newsletters still to be mailed but we're working on it.

We now have only about 20 people left to contact on our Performance Based Contract so we should be able to clear that queue right up by early next week. I am in Sydney next week chairing the Racing and Sports Betting Forum at the Marriott in Sydney but I will be back on deck by Thursday.

Today's Premium Selection does not qualify under David's Rules.
